I am ONE with that!

As I have been working day and night lately, completing my initial book manuscript for my March 31st submission to the publisher, I have been taking masterclasses on the side about how to launch and promote a book as well as how to market my services using a book. I’m a member of Sara Connell’s Thought Leader Academy and have loved all I have been learning. One of the biggest takeaways and renewed awarenesses I’ve had came from a phrase she frequently uses when coaching us: “I am ONE with that!”

As other members would share their successes with book sales, major book awards, or landing corporate keynotes, TEDx talks, and related consulting and coaching contracts which sometimes resulted in multiple 6- and 7-figure businesses, it was easy to see how others who had not yet written a book or who had not enjoyed similar successes could feel envious, experience imposture syndrome, or even talk themselves out of moving forward out of a conscious, or even subconscious, fear of success. But before any of us could move into those feelings and reactions, Sara would be quick to say (and often ask us to repeat), “I am ONE with that!”

Today, I received a book on conflict that I ordered which had been recommended to me. I quickly flipped it over and saw that this random author had book testimonials on the back cover from Mel Robbins, Chris Voss, and Dr. Andrew Huberman! I instantly fell into comparison mode and felt “less than” this author. I mean, there would be no possible way that an unknown author like me could ever get a testimonial from bestselling authors or thought leaders like these on the back of my book. And then, I remembered (and I smiled) as I said out loud, “I am ONE with that!”

I may not get testimonials from famous authors, but the comparison of myself to someone else’s success does no good and only serves to settle within me a widening chasm between what I want and what I think is actually possible.

“I am ONE with that!” is an amazing way to cut those self-sabotaging reactions off at the knees. It caused me to honor the success others were having and see it as a light they were shining on what is possible for me. Over time, it takes away the lens of comparison, envy, or limitation and inserts the lens of appreciation, alignment, optimism, opportunity, certainty, celebration, and hope. The more I’ve used it, the more I have begun to look forward to hearing everyone’s success stories as they continue to confirm what was possible, if not probable, for me.

Saying “I am ONE with that!” is claiming that success is good and to be celebrated, that someone else’s success is evidence of a multitude of amazing, unbelievable, miraculous things happening all around us and available to us. It honors the hard work and dedication the other person has put into their success and shouts to the world (internally and externally), “Thank you for showing and demonstrating to me what is totally possible for me!”

“I am ONE with that!” confirms that if someone has already done it, then it IS possible for everyone or anyone else if they are willing to do what it takes, step into the arena, and take the chance. It is a statement of hope, intention, and appreciation. And it works! I’ve already seen the results of aligning with this magic rather than resisting and resenting it.

This week, raise your awareness around noticing when you are triggered to feel “less than,” jealous, or annoyed with the success of others in any area of your life that you wish was different:  money, career, love, health, travel, hobbies, family, or other relationships. Try repeating the mantra of “I am ONE with that!” and then notice the immediate shift in your emotions, self-confidence, and belief.

We all have more inside us than we often know, believe, or bring to the table of our life. You have more inside of you. And every time someone you know is experiencing great success, The Universe is showing you the indisputable evidence that you have your own victory to claim and that it is simply waiting for you to step into the game and align with your destiny.

And I am totally ONE with THAT!

“Celebrating others’ success opens the door for us to be the next recipients of success.”
