Are Things Getting Worse or Better?

“Tell someone that everything will be great and they’re likely to either shrug you off or offer a skeptical eye. Tell someone they’re in danger, and you have their undivided attention.”  This is a quote from Morgan Housel, bestselling author of The Psychology of Money, as he explains our seduction with pessimism in today’s media-frenzied world.

On this Monday morning, I’m shirking my duties and reprinting (with permission) an article written by Jake Elm, CFP and part of the Dentist Advisor Team.  Jake’s article helped me to remember that, if you take the long view, things are definitely getting better, and regardless of what the short view tells us, we still have so much for which to be massively grateful.  I thought it might do the same for some of you who may be feeling that things are headed downhill fast and that hope for a bright future is all but lost.

Thank you, Jake, for shining a bright light on a much more enlightened and positive perspective for us to hold as we close out 2023 and begin to envision our 2024.
